“I will be shaken but not stirred!”

“So this is a new life experience for me  – literally taking me in sight of Everest. As I rise to the challenge of supporting a school hit by an earthquake where we will spend three days rebuilding and repairing damage after the devastation left behind.

I will also be trekking to raise funds for people closer to home in an industry I love with a passion. This is my way of giving back to those less fortunate than myself who face challenges and barriers in the hospitality and food industry with Springboard, an amazing charity supported by some of the greatest and well respected chefs in the UK.

My inspiration for being involved with this project came from Sat Bains who actually took the same route in 2014 when he was struck down with severe altitude sickness and had to withdraw from the expedition a few hours later an earthquake devastated the homes of thousands of people. I plan to follow in Sat’s steps and raise as much cash as possible. Please give whatever you can – every penny helps. I hope you will enjoy sharing my adventure and help me raise lots of funds for a fantastic cause.

Thank you for all your support.” – Feeney

“Hey Chieftain!

I was lucky enough and privileged to have got to the base of Everest, something that will live with me forever.

I’m so glad John is doing this and I wish him all the best, as I know you learn a lot about yourself trekking and he’s going to be learning a lot about himself. Putting his needs to the background he’s going to learn about giving, a true gift, thinking about other people’s needs before his!” – Sat Bains
